An Apology to Players
Mary Sues are a huge problem in many video games, and I’m afraid Petty Theft Moped is the same. However, I want to make it clear that the people in my universe do not admire my game characters. I just literally stuck myself in the game because this was done because other people were involved in its production. This explains why the people in the game are based off of real people. More importantly, they are based off of my perceptions of these people, with some traits exaggerated.
If you think I see myself as a snarky, sarcastic individual, I will just say I have no idea where you got that idea. Jessy is a kindly individual who is legally blind in real life. Randy's character is somewhat different thatn the person's character in real life. She may or may not be a good shot, but she is much better at Mortal Kombat than I am, and she can easily beat me at most fighting games. Ringo is a black cat who frequently demands affection. All other characters and organizations are either fictional or used in a satirical purpose.
This is the last time I intend to do this in any piece of art. Using the term “art” to describe Petty Theft Moped might be a stretch. A more important art to me went into the writing of this explanation, but the game is intended to be satire. It is also intended to express my frustration with the police department’s failure to find my hot pink moped after someone stole it from my house.
I apologize for doing this, and I promise not to do it in my next project.
